Samsung Electronics unveiled its vision “Companion to AI Living” during The First Look event at CES® 2026, held at the Latour Ballroom in Wynn Las Vegas. The presentation showcased Samsung’s strategic focus on artificial intelligence as a core philosophy that connects research and development, product innovation, operations, and user experience across its entire ecosystem.
Opening the event, TM Roh, President and Head
of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, emphasized the company’s
leadership in artificial intelligence, highlighting that Samsung’s extensive,
connected, and AI-powered ecosystem enables truly meaningful AI companion
experiences in everyday life. According to Roh, this approach goes beyond basic
technology functions, allowing users to enjoy more intuitive and personalized
moments throughout their daily routines.
Samsung’s vision centers on delivering a
unified and personalized experience across mobile devices, displays, home
appliances, and services. With AI deeply integrated into all product
categories, the company aims to redefine how users interact with technology on
a daily basis.
ENTERTAINMENT COMPANION
SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display
Business at Samsung Electronics, together with Sukhmani Mohta, Chief Marketing
and Partnerships Officer of Samsung Electronics America’s Visual Display
Business, presented Samsung’s next-generation display solutions designed to
serve as true entertainment companions. Building on two decades of leadership
in the TV industry, Samsung introduced a comprehensive lineup of AI-powered
televisions that transform how users interact with screens.
At the center of this lineup is the 130-inch
Micro RGB display, representing a major leap in both size and picture quality.
Featuring the widest and most detailed color spectrum ever seen on a Samsung
TV, the Micro RGB display ushers in a new era of visual performance. Its
Timeless Frame design minimizes distractions, while independently illuminated
red, green, and blue micro-diodes deliver exceptionally pure and natural
colors. Powered by the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, the display offers precise
color control and vivid image quality in every scene.
Enhancing the viewing experience further,
Samsung introduced the Vision AI Companion (VAC), an AI-driven system that acts
as a complete entertainment companion throughout the home. VAC provides personalized
recommendations on what to watch, eat, or listen to, expanding the TV
experience far beyond traditional viewing.
Samsung also presented intelligent
personalization modes, including AI Soccer Mode Pro, which optimizes picture
and sound for a stadium-like football experience, and AI Sound Controller Pro,
allowing users to adjust crowd noise, commentary, or background music. Voice
commands are seamlessly executed across all VAC-enabled TVs, including Micro
LED, Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED, and UHD models.
The entertainment ecosystem is further
expanded through multi-device functionality, enabling recipe discovery from
on-screen content and seamless sharing across connected devices, including the
newly introduced The Movingstyle, designed for easy movement throughout the
home.
Samsung reaffirmed its leadership in audio
technology, marking its 11th consecutive year as the global soundbar market
leader. The company introduced two new Wi-Fi speakers, Music Studio 5 and 7,
featuring a timeless design by renowned designer Erwan Bouroullec and enhanced
integration within Samsung’s audio-visual ecosystem.
Additional highlights include the ultra-slim
OLED S95H, designed with gallery-like elegance, and the portable Samsung The
Freestyle+, which uses VAC to project content on walls, ceilings, and
unconventional surfaces. Samsung’s 2026 TV lineup also supports HDR10+ ADVANCED
and introduces Eclipsa Audio, a new spatial audio system available across all
2026 models.
For gamers and creators, Samsung unveiled its
most advanced Odyssey gaming monitor lineup to date, led by the world’s first
6K 3D Odyssey G9, pushing the boundaries of resolution, refresh rates, and
immersive visuals.
At the heart of these innovations is the most
powerful Tizen OS yet, with Samsung committing to seven years of Tizen OS
upgrades to ensure long-term value for users.
HOME COMPANION
Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head
of Digital Appliances Division, alongside Elizabeth Anderson from Samsung
Electronics America, presented Samsung’s vision of transforming home appliances
into intelligent home companions that reduce everyday stress. Kim revealed that
SmartThings now serves over 430 million users globally as of December 2025,
providing Samsung with unparalleled insights into user needs.
These insights are brought to life through the
AI-powered Family Hub refrigerator, now enhanced with AI Vision technology
based on Google Gemini. The system accurately tracks food items, simplifies
meal planning, and helps reduce food waste. Family Hub refrigerators have earned
10 CES Innovation Awards to date, with Samsung AI refrigerators receiving
recognition for three consecutive years.
New features such as “What’s for Today?”,
SmartThings Food, Video to Recipe, and FoodNote further streamline meal
planning and cooking, while Voice ID and Now Brief personalize content for each
family member.
Samsung also introduced upgraded Bespoke AI
Laundry solutions, the Bespoke AI AirDresser with Auto Wrinkle Care, and the
Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robotic vacuum, which features advanced liquid
detection, home monitoring capabilities, and enhanced voice control via Bixby.
These innovations have also been recognized with CES Innovation Awards.
In addition, Samsung announced a strategic
partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), aimed at delivering real cost
savings in smart homes through SmartThings integration, following a successful
pilot project in the United States.
CARE COMPANION
Concluding the presentation, Praveen Raja,
Vice President and Head of Digital Health at Samsung Research America, outlined
Samsung’s long-term vision for intelligent, proactive health care. Through AI
integration across phones, wearables, and home devices, Samsung aims to help
users prevent health issues before they arise.
The company plans to offer personalized health
coaching, including exercise and sleep guidance, nutrition recommendations, and
early alerts for unusual health patterns. Through the Xealth platform, users
will be able to securely share health data with medical professionals. Samsung
is also expanding research into early dementia detection through wearable
technology.
Security remains a cornerstone of this
ecosystem, with Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix safeguarding user data across all
devices and continuously evolving to address emerging AI risks
