Samsung Electronics has announced a new partnership with MUNCH that will bring iconic works by Edvard Munch to millions of homes worldwide through the Samsung Art Store platform.
The
new digital collection features 37 masterpieces, including the world-famous
artworks “The Scream,” “The Dance of Life,” and “Melancholy,” along with
several rarely exhibited pieces from the museum’s archives. Through this
collaboration, users around the globe will gain exclusive access to some of the
most significant works of European artistic heritage directly on Samsung Art TV
devices
“Samsung
develops products that inspire people and help them express personal style
through design and culture,” said Tommy Nilsson, Director of TV & Audio at
Samsung Nordics. “With Samsung Art Store, world-class art becomes accessible to
millions of people, and through this partnership with the MUNCH museum we are
bringing an important part of European artistic heritage into users’ homes.”
In
addition to Munch’s most celebrated paintings, the collection also offers a
more intimate look into the artist’s creative legacy through rarely seen works
such as “Garden with Trees” and “Two Human Beings at the Table.” Many of these
artworks are preserved under carefully controlled conditions due to their
sensitivity and are not normally available for public display, even inside the
museum in Oslo.
Tone Hansen, Director of the MUNCH museum, described the collaboration as an important opportunity to present Munch’s art beyond the walls of the museum.
“Thanks
to Samsung’s global reach and Art TV technology, we can make Edvard Munch’s
works more accessible to people worldwide, and we are honored to collaborate
with Samsung on this important initiative,” Hansen said.
The
collection will be available exclusively on Samsung Art TV devices through
Samsung Art Store, allowing users to explore hidden artistic treasures from the
comfort of their own homes.
Samsung
continues to redefine the role of television in modern living spaces by combining
advanced display technology with sophisticated interior design. The expansion
of Samsung Art Store across the company’s Art TV lineup — including The Frame,
OLED, Neo QLED and Micro RGB models — further connects everyday environments
with curated collections from leading museums, galleries, and artists.
Samsung Art Store currently offers access to more than 5,000 artworks created by over 800 artists in collaboration with prestigious institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art and Musée d’Orsay.
Selected
artworks from the MUNCH museum became globally available through Samsung Art
Store on June 1, 2026.
Located
in Oslo’s vibrant Bjørvika district, the MUNCH museum houses the world’s
largest collection of works by Edvard Munch, including masterpieces such as
“The Scream,” “The Sun,” “Vampire,” and “Girls on the Bridge.” The museum
serves as a major cultural hub, organizing exhibitions, concerts, lectures, and
events that attract millions of visitors and art lovers every year.
Widely
regarded as one of the most influential artists of modernism, Edvard Munch
(1863–1944) left a profound impact on international art through his
groundbreaking experimentation in painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture,
photography, and film.
