Following the highly successful inaugural edition, which brought together experts and enthusiasts around a new Mediterranean story dedicated to olives, olive oil and the potential of this agricultural sector, "OLEO TREBINJE 2026" is returning for its second edition with an even richer and more comprehensive programme.

"Encouraged by the strong interest of producers, experts and visitors, as well as the increasingly intensive development of olive growing in Trebinje and Herzegovina, we have decided to organize a new edition of the festival," the Trebinje Tourist Organization said.

Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, natural resources and the dedication of local producers, olive growing has already become an important part of the gastronomic and tourism identity of Trebinje and Herzegovina.

The organizers particularly welcome the growing interest among young people in cultivating and putting abandoned land back into productive use, with the aim of establishing new olive groves and launching their own production.

"These examples show that olive growing in Herzegovina is not only part of our tradition, but also a development opportunity for a new generation of entrepreneurs, an incentive for people to remain in rural areas and a chance to create products with high added value," the festival organizers said.

The festival programme will feature expert workshops, educational sessions, presentations, thematic discussions and olive oil tastings, with a special focus on modern approaches to olive cultivation, establishing and maintaining olive groves, olive oil production and quality improvement, as well as the development of essential infrastructure for olive processing.

Special attention will also be given to product branding and market placement, as well as the development of oleotourism, which connects olive groves, local producers, gastronomy and authentic destination experiences.

By connecting primary production, processing and tourism, the festival aims to create opportunities for the development of new experiences and tourism products that could further enrich the tourism offer of Trebinje and Herzegovina.
