FROM KOMLEN TO VALLEY OF HEROES: A NEW LOOK FOR A RESTAURANT IN TIENTIŠTE

The former Komlen restaurant, once one of the well-known dining spots in Tjentište, within Sutjeska National Park, has a new name and a fresh new look. Now operating as the Valley of Heroes (Dolina heroja), the restaurant is entering a new chapter in the tourism offer of one of the most significant natural and historical areas of the Republic of Srpska.

Located in the heart of Sutjeska National Park, close to the memorial complex dedicated to the Battle of Sutjeska, the restaurant welcomes visitors to an area that attracts tourists, hikers, excursionists and nature enthusiasts every year.

The change of name represents more than just a new identity for the establishment. It also reflects the historical significance of Tjentište and the events that have shaped this area.

A NEW CHAPTER FOR THE FORMER KOMLEN RESTAURANT

For years, Komlen was a familiar stop for visitors to Tjentište, offering a place to relax, socialise and enjoy a meal while exploring the national park.

Its former facilities included an indoor dining area and a spacious summer terrace, while the menu featured a selection of traditional local and international dishes.

Now known as the Valley of Heroes, the restaurant has a renewed identity inspired by the historical importance of its surroundings.

MAJOR INVESTMENT IN SUTJESKA'S TOURISM OFFER

The renovation of hospitality facilities is part of a broader plan to improve the tourism offer of Sutjeska National Park.

In early July 2026, a long-term lease agreement for the national park's hospitality facilities was signed, with investments worth approximately BAM 70 million announced.

The renovation of the former Komlen restaurant is part of efforts to provide Tjentište with modern hospitality facilities and better conditions for welcoming visitors.

WHERE NATURE AND HISTORY MEET

Tjentište is one of the most recognisable tourist destinations in the Republic of Srpska. Alongside its memorial complex and monumental memorial dedicated to the Battle of Sutjeska, the national park offers visitors numerous natural attractions.

The surrounding area is home to Perućica Primeval Forest, Mount Maglić, the Zelengora mountain range and Trnovačko Lake, making it particularly attractive to outdoor enthusiasts and visitors seeking an active holiday in nature.

With its new name and renewed appearance, the Valley of Heroes restaurant is becoming part of a broader tourism story about Tjentište – a destination where natural heritage, history and tourism come together.
