From November 5 to 7, 2026, Trebinje will host the traditional “Dučić Poetry Evenings,” a cultural event dedicated to Jovan Dučić, one of the most celebrated Serbian poets and a native of Trebinje.
The three-day festival will bring together renowned poets, writers, and artists, offering a rich program of literary gatherings, exhibitions, discussions, and musical performances.
The event begins on November 5 with “Poets Among Schoolchildren,” featuring poetry sessions in local elementary schools and meetings with high school students.
On November 6, the program includes a tribute to Jovan Dučić and Petar II Petrović Njegoš, a discussion on language and literature, and an art exhibition. The highlight of the evening will be the ceremonial performance “At the Prince’s Ball”, held at the Trebinje Cultural Center at 8 PM.
The final day, November 7, will feature the presentation of the literary magazine Danica, followed by the poetry evening “On Dučić’s Path” at the Museum of Herzegovina, starting at 7 PM.
Through poetry, music, and art, Trebinje will once again celebrate the literary legacy of Jovan Dučić, preserving the cultural heritage of the city and its most famous poet.
The event is sponsored by the City of Trebinje.
