The city of Trebinje will host the Japanese Film Festival on November 11 and 18, bringing a selection of Japanese cinema to audiences in the Republic of Srpska.
The
festival is organised by the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in
cooperation with the Japan Foundation and the Trebinje Cultural Centre.
The
event is part of the Japanese Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which
will run from November to February next year across five cities: Trebinje,
Banja Luka, Cazin, Sarajevo and Mostar.
FOUR JAPANESE FILMS TO BE SCREENED
The
programme in Trebinje features four Japanese films, including an animated
production created using stop-motion techniques.
According
to the Embassy of Japan, the selected films offer audiences an insight into
Japan's society, creativity and cultural diversity.
The
organisers hope the screenings will bring Japanese culture closer to local
audiences and provide an opportunity to discover new stories and perspectives.
The
Embassy also expressed particular pleasure at beginning this cultural journey
in Trebinje, a city known for its rich history and culture, beautiful natural
surroundings and warm hospitality.
30 YEARS OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN JAPAN AND BIH
This
year's festival also carries special significance as Japan and Bosnia and
Herzegovina mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The
Embassy of Japan hopes the event will contribute to a better understanding of
Japanese culture and further strengthen the friendship between the two
countries.
Admission
to all screenings in Trebinje is free of charge, and the films will be shown
starting at 11:00 a.m. on both festival dates.
