Banja Luka is continuing to strengthen its position as one of the region’s increasingly attractive tourist destinations, with the latest statistics showing growth in both tourist arrivals and overnight stays during the first nine months of 2026.
According
to data from the Republic of Srpska Institute of Statistics, the largest city
in the Republic of Srpska recorded nearly 97,000 tourist arrivals between
January and September, representing a one per cent increase compared to the
same period last year.
Growth
was even stronger in overnight stays, with more than 156,000 recorded, an
increase of five per cent compared to the first nine months of 2025.
TOURISTS ARE STAYING LONGER
The
figures indicate that Banja Luka is not only attracting more visitors but also
encouraging them to spend more time discovering the city and its tourism offer.
The
positive trend continued in September, when the number of overnight stays
increased by four per cent compared to the same month last year.
These
results highlight the appeal of Banja Luka’s tourism offer, which combines
natural attractions, cultural and historical heritage, gastronomy and a vibrant
social scene.
