Through contemporary visual mapping technology projected onto the Central Memorial Monument dedicated to fallen soldiers of the Army of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska presented portraits of fallen fighters alongside moving testimonies from members of their families.
The
unique projection, which symbolically brought the memorial site to life, was
attended by Republika Srpska government representatives, including Savo Minić,
as well as representatives of veteran organizations and institutions formed
during the Homeland Defense War.
The event combined art, technology, and the culture of remembrance in an effort to bring younger generations closer to the meaning of freedom, sacrifice, and the historical legacy of the Serbian people.
Emotional scenes marked the evening in the center of Banja Luka, with many visitors unable to hold back tears during the powerful presentation.
Organizers
emphasized that the event is part of broader activities aimed at preserving
historical memory, nurturing a culture of remembrance, and permanently
documenting the suffering endured by the Serbian people throughout history.
The
Central Memorial Monument in Banja Luka bears the names of around 26,000
soldiers who lost their lives during the creation and defense of Republika
Srpska, leaving a lasting legacy built upon their sacrifice.
The
text accompanying the presentation also recalled the historical events
surrounding the establishment of Republika Srpska in 1992, following political
developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and decisions made by representatives of
the Serbian people at the time. Constitutional changes and declarations adopted
throughout 1992 ultimately shaped the entity known today as Republika Srpska.
