Following this recognition, the Government of Republika Srpska authorized the signing of a collaborative document with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations to support efforts in promoting, protecting, and preserving this remarkable reserve.

The collaborative framework, titled the "Joint Declaration of Intent for Cooperation in the Protection and Management of the World Heritage of Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe," unites 18 European countries in a shared commitment to conserving these ancient forests. Belgium, through Flanders’ Nature and Forest Agency, leads this multinational initiative.

The signing countries have committed to fostering mutual support for the conservation of these heritage sites. This includes an integrated management approach, education, awareness-raising, community engagement, and sustainable development, all aimed at safeguarding these areas for future generations. The partnership also emphasizes the role of these ancient beech forests in combating and adapting to climate change.

In Republika Srpska, the forest’s caretaker is the "Gorica" Forestry Enterprise in Šipovo, which ensures the preservation and responsible management of Janj Rainforest.

As part of UNESCO’s series of natural heritage sites, the "Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe" represents the largest of its kind, encompassing 94 locations across 18 countries. This natural marvel invites visitors from around the world to witness the ancient splendor of Europe’s beech forests and to appreciate their ecological significance.
