NINE COUPLES SAY “I DO” IN THE HEART OF BIJELJINA

The third Collective Wedding was held in Bijeljina as part of the “Pantelinski Dani” celebrations, bringing together nine couples who exchanged their wedding vows in a festive ceremony.

The event attracted couples from across the region, with newlyweds travelling to Bijeljina not only from Semberija, but also from Zenica, Brod, Doboj and Ugljevik.

Bijeljina Mayor Ljubiša Petrović told the newlyweds that it was a great honour for the city that the collective wedding was gradually becoming a tradition.

“It is a great honour for all of us in Bijeljina that we are slowly but surely creating a tradition of collective weddings and celebrating the sacred institution of marriage. Newlyweds, never allow the law to define your marriage. Respect one another, protect your marriage from temptations and challenges,” Petrović said.

He wished the couples large families, happiness and good health, emphasizing that a beautiful image of Bijeljina was being sent during the “Pantelinski Dani” celebrations.

“I wish you calm waters on your journey through marriage,” Petrović said, as reported by InfoBijeljina.

Among those who entered married life was Violeta Nikolić from Ugljevik, who praised the organization of the ceremony.

“The organization is excellent. I would like to thank the City Administration of Bijeljina,” Nikolić said.

Selma Silajdžić from Zenica also said “I do” in Bijeljina. She said she particularly liked the idea of getting married alongside other young couples.

“The organization is very good. Everything exceeded our expectations,” Silajdžić said.

Dragana Koprivica from the Department of General Administration of the City of Bijeljina said that this year’s Collective Wedding brought together nine couples.

“Four of the nine couples are not from Semberija. They came from Zenica, Brod, Doboj and Ugljevik, which makes us particularly happy,” Koprivica said.

Numerous sponsors helped provide wedding dresses, bouquets, suits, hairdressing and photography services for the newlyweds, while a joint lunch was also organized.

The couples were additionally presented with prize trips to Lisbon and Northern Italy.

“This is a unique event in the Republic of Srpska,” Koprivica emphasized.

The third Collective Wedding in Bijeljina once again brought together young couples from different parts of the region, giving them the opportunity to begin their married lives in a festive and memorable atmosphere.

At the same time, the event continues to strengthen its place among the traditions of Bijeljina and the “Pantelinski Dani”, with the city once again sending a message celebrating love, family and togetherness.
