RUSSIAN CHOIR AMAZES BIJELJINA AUDIENCE

One of Russia's most renowned ensembles, the "Vozrozhdenie" Choir from Moscow, delivered a breathtaking performance in front of the Bijeljina audience, who enjoyed a repertoire of classical, spiritual, popular, and traditional music — genres that have made this choir famous across global music circles.

“This cultural event once again confirms that Bijeljina is part of the world stage,” said Sreten Vučković, speaking on behalf of the City of Bijeljina. “Bijeljina was the only city in the Republic of Srpska where this choir performed, highlighting our enduring and unbreakable ties with the Russian people — bonds that have stood strong in both good and difficult times.”

The concert tour of the “Vozrozhdenie” Choir is sponsored by the City of Moscow, while Bijeljina proved once again to be an excellent host of another cultural event — one of many held over the past five years in the Semberija region, added Vučković.

Unique in many ways, this choir counts over 4,000 members, with the youngest singer being just a year and a half old, reflecting their commitment to nurturing talent from an early age.

Led by Tatiana Zhdanova — a distinguished musical artist, choral conductor, and recipient of numerous Russian and international awards — the choir’s repertoire includes Orthodox spiritual music, Russian folk songs, and works by global composers adapted for choral performance.

“We began our journey as graduates of the ‘Joy’ Children's Center. Those children are now grown-ups — teachers, managers, economists, doctors — united by a shared love for art and music,” said Zhdanova, as reported by InfoBijeljina. “Before Bijeljina, we performed across Serbia, and we were delighted to be invited here. People in Bijeljina have shown us such warmth, kindness, and sincere friendship. We know the history of the Serbian people and have always considered you our brothers — and now we’ve felt that bond in person.”

Prior to the concert, the Mayor of Bijeljina hosted a reception for the choir members, stating that through their art, they help erase borders between countries and peoples. He emphasized that the borders between the Serbian and Russian people should be as minimal as possible, and that all forms of cooperation should reflect the brotherhood between two nations always standing on the side of truth and justice.
