The second OCR Venom Run race in Derventa will take place on March 21, with the main part of the sporting event set to be held at the obstacle course behind the stadium of FK Tekstilac.
The
race route combines an urban setting with natural obstacles, mud, water
crossings and a final obstacle course in front of spectators, offering both
competitors and visitors a true sporting spectacle.
“The
race starts at the Ilman location near the Ukrina River and continues along the
riverbank, through the reconstructed city park, all the way to the obstacle
course. It is a demanding obstacle race that tests strength and endurance. Of
course, we haven’t forgotten our youngest participants — the main event will be
preceded by a children’s race,” said the event organizer Milenko Cvjetković,
adding that competitors from Italy have already been announced.
The
course will be five kilometers long and will feature 25 obstacles, including
several brand-new challenges that have not been seen at similar competitions in
the region before.
The race will also carry a humanitarian and inclusive character, as it is being held on a date dedicated to people with Down syndrome.
“We
want to show that our organization is more than just a sporting event. That is
why we will also organize an inclusive race adapted for children, including
children with special needs,” Cvjetković added, thanking the city of Derventa,
the company Mozzart, sponsors and numerous volunteers involved in organizing
the event.
Mayor
Igor Žunić expressed satisfaction that the OCR race is becoming a tradition and
that this year’s edition will surpass the first one in terms of the number of
participants.
“This
is a race that, in addition to its sporting importance, will also have a tourism
impact for our city. I am pleased that the route covers a wider area of the
city, giving participants the opportunity to get to know Derventa better. The
central part of the event will take place at the obstacle course we are
gradually developing for this sport, as well as for other sports and
recreational activities,” the mayor said.
The
final deadline for online registration is March 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., or
until the race capacity is filled.
