Novi Grad is where two unique rivers, the Una and the Sana, converge, making it a significant tourist potential for the Republic of Srpska due to its many attractions and natural beauties.
The name "Una" has existed since the time of the ancient Romans and simply means "the only one."
Indeed, the Una River is the greatest attraction of Novi Grad.
The confluence of the Una and Sana
rivers is the most popular swimming spot in Novi Grad, known as the
"Ada" City Beach, which is also a favorite among visitors from other
parts of the country.
In Novi Grad itself, as well as upstream and downstream, there are numerous beaches.
There are camping spots, and along the Una, weekend
houses and apartments can be rented. Besides swimming, visitors can enjoy rafting
and kayaking on the Una, as well as sailing in the distinctive Una boat.
In addition to its natural riches, tourists in Novi Grad can
also enjoy its cultural offerings. In the town center, there is the Old Town
Hall, which is a national monument built in 1888 in the pseudo-Moorish style.
It houses a museum with a rich ethnological collection. The City Gallery is
home to the legacy of the painter Stojan Ćelić, which is also listed as a
national monument.
