In a time when identity is often reduced to short messages and superficial symbols, initiatives are emerging that present the Republic of Srpska in a different, quieter and more lasting way. One of them is the digital platform and page “Meet Srpska,” dedicated to showcasing the natural and cultural heritage, as well as the tourism potential, of Srpska.
Unlike
conventional informational channels, “Meet Srpska” does not take a declarative
approach. It does not seek to prove, persuade, or engage in polemics. Instead,
through photographs, short stories, and authentic scenes from all parts of the
Republic of Srpska, it reminds audiences of what is often taken for granted —
the space we live in and an identity that does not need to be explained.
From
river gorges and mountain passes, through villages and small towns, to
monasteries and other landmarks, the platform builds a mosaic of Srpska as it
truly is: diverse, calm, resilient, and deeply rooted. Its strength lies
precisely in this approach — it does not demand attention, it earns it.
REACTIVATION
After
a certain period of reduced activity, the “Meet Srpska” social media pages on
Facebook and Instagram have become active again in recent weeks, with regular
posts that have attracted significant public interest. On this occasion, Glas
Srpske contacted representatives of the association behind the project, who
confirmed that this is not a sporadic move, but a carefully planned
reactivation.
“We
decided to reactivate the project gradually, starting with social media, in
order to re-establish continuity and communication with the audience. In the
coming period, new content will also be published on the website itself, along
with the presentation of new locations from different parts of the Republic of
Srpska,” the representatives of the “Meet Srpska” association stated.
They
added that a number of other activities are also planned and will be
implemented in phases, with the aim of developing and expanding the project in
the long term, without haste or short-term effects.
CULTURE OF MEMORY
A
particular value of “Meet Srpska” lies in the fact that its content is adapted
to younger generations, who increasingly receive information through social
networks. Instead of an imposed narrative, it offers an experience. Instead of
political language, it speaks through space, nature, and heritage.
In
this sense, the platform represents an important contribution to the
contemporary shaping of a culture of memory and belonging. “Meet Srpska” thus
goes beyond being merely a digital project, becoming a kind of archive of its
time — a testimony to a land that endures.
