COLD WEATHER ARRIVES

Milica Đorđević from the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute explains that temperatures have recently dropped, which is expected for November. "With ongoing low cloud cover and fog blocking sunlight, it’s cold for much of the day, but this isn’t a significant cold snap," she says. "Southern areas, with more sunshine, are noticeably warmer, with temperatures often reaching 18 to 20°C, while in cloudy areas, it stays between 10 and 12°C. Rain is possible on Thursday and Friday, with light drizzle and some light snow in hilly and mountainous regions," she adds, noting that morning frost is also expected.

Current forecasts predict a rise in temperatures after November 18 as warmer southern air flows in. "There’s still no sign of a serious cold wave," Đorđević tells "Nezavisne novine."

The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute reports that low cloud cover or fog will dominate most of the country tomorrow, while the southwest and Herzegovina will remain mostly sunny, with an east to northeast wind. Morning temperatures will range between -3 and 3°C across most areas, and 5 to 8°C in the south. Daytime highs will vary from 3 to 8°C, reaching 13 to 17°C in the south.

On Wednesday, low clouds or fog will continue, with light snow expected in the mountains. The southwest and Herzegovina will stay sunny, though clouds will move in from the south by afternoon, bringing light rain or snow in the mountains by Thursday. Temperatures will range from -3 to 2°C in most areas and 4 to 8°C in the south, with daytime highs of 3 to 8°C, and 13 to 17°C in the south.

Similar conditions are expected on Thursday and Friday, with light rain or snow in the mountains and mild east to northeast winds. Morning lows will be between -1 and 3°C in most areas, 5 to 9°C in the south, while daytime highs will range from 3 to 7°C, and 13 to 16°C in the south. Friday will see similar conditions with morning lows between 0 and 4°C, reaching 6 to 10°C in the south, and daytime highs of 3 to 7°C, and 10 to 14°C in the south.

According to BHMeteo.ba, dry weather will continue until around November 17, after which a more unstable period is expected, with more frequent precipitation as the month progresses. "Temperatures will stay similar to recent days, or a bit colder, with persistent fog and low clouds in valleys. Sunnier areas will see slightly warmer daytime temperatures but colder mornings with frost, especially in mountainous areas," they report.
