COLDER WEATHER ARRIVES IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA - SNOW EXPECTED IN HIGHER AREAS

Republika Srpska will be affected by a cold wave starting Thursday, March 26, bringing snowfall to higher elevations of the Krajina region, while lower areas will see rain, sleet, and occasional snow, according to meteorologist Milica Đorđević.

COLDER WEATHER ARRIVES IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA - SNOW EXPECTED IN HIGHER AREAS

Đorđević stated that snow is expected on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the heaviest snowfall in the higher parts of Krajina. Strong winds in these areas may create snowdrifts and accumulation, while eastern mountainous regions are expected to receive less snow.

The lowest chances of snowfall are forecast for Semberija, Posavina, and the far south of Herzegovina.

Snow Possible Around Banja Luka

Snowfall is also expected in higher areas surrounding Banja Luka, with more significant snow cover likely on the Manjača plateau.

In lower regions, snow will occur only occasionally, and no significant snow cover is expected to form.

Sleet Likely in Banja Luka

“In the city of Banja Luka, precipitation will most likely be on the border between rain, sleet, and snow,” Đorđević added.

Temperature Drop Across the Region

Following Thursday, colder weather will spread across all areas. On Friday and Saturday, air temperatures will mostly range between 2 and 7 or 8 degrees Celsius, reaching around 10 degrees in the far south, while mountain areas will remain below freezing.

Daytime temperatures during these days are expected to stay between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius, with sub-zero temperatures in higher elevations.
