"SCHOOL WITHOUT BURDEN" - A CHALLENGE FOR PARENTS

With the aim of freeing students from overloaded school bags, the advisor to the Mayor of Banja Luka, Milada Šukalo, has launched a campaign called "School Without Burden." The goal of the campaign is to find a systematic solution that will reduce the weight of students' backpacks and thereby improve conditions for the healthy development of our children.

"SCHOOL WITHOUT BURDEN" - A CHALLENGE FOR PARENTS

The "School Without Burden" campaign begins with a challenge for all parents. Šukalo invites parents to weigh their children's bags and share the results on social media to highlight this significant issue that many parents and students face daily.

"We witness that children carry burdens exceeding 10 kilograms to school every day, which can have long-term consequences for their health. We believe it is time to find a sustainable solution to this problem," emphasized Šukalo.

To ensure this initiative achieves concrete results, a legal team has been formed to work on finding solutions in accordance with existing legal regulations, which will provide adequate support for this initiative.

"The aim is to reduce the need for carrying large quantities of books and other educational materials through changes in curricula and educational programs, as well as through innovative educational models," stated Šukalo.

She calls on all relevant institutions, parents, and teachers to join this initiative, as only through collective efforts can a safer and healthier school environment be created for all students in Banja Luka.

"The 'School Without Burden' is not just a campaign, but a mission that we can achieve together in the interest of our children," added Šukalo, urging all citizens to support this action and take the first step towards lighter school bags for the health of children.
