The City of Trebinje was presented as an official partner at this year’s prestigious St. Sava Ball in Vienna, held in the historic Hofburg Palace. The event gathered more than 3,000 guests, including diplomats, business leaders, cultural figures and members of the Serbian diaspora, making it an exceptional opportunity to promote Trebinje as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska.
More than 200 visitors arrived from Trebinje
itself, contributing to a strong and authentic presentation of the city’s
cultural identity, tradition and hospitality.
TREBINJE ATTRACTS INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION THROUGH CULTURE AND HERITAGE
Trebinje Mayor Mirko Ćurić emphasized the
importance of the city’s participation in such a prominent international event,
highlighting its long-term impact on tourism promotion.
“It is a great honor for Trebinje to be
presented at the St. Sava Ball in Vienna. Our folklore ensembles and choir
demonstrated that Trebinje preserves its tradition and cultural heritage while
successfully presenting it in a modern, European context. This is an
opportunity that will be remembered for years and will significantly contribute
to Trebinje’s international visibility,” said Ćurić.
The invitation to participate was open to all
citizens, and the City Administration actively supported the organization and
presentation of Trebinje’s tourism, cultural and economic potentials.
STRONG TOURISM AND ECONOMIC TIES BETWEEN AUSTRIA AND TREBINJE
According to Mladen Filipović, Head of the
Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria, the event further strengthened
tourism and economic cooperation between Austria and the Republic of Srpska.
“Tourism cooperation between Austria and the
Republic of Srpska is continuously growing. Through events like the St. Sava
Ball, we promote destinations such as Trebinje to Austrian tourists, travel
agencies and investors. Our goal is to encourage not only tourist visits, but
also long-term partnerships and investments that contribute to sustainable
development,” Filipović stated.
TOURISM, CULTURE AND GASTRONOMY PRESENTED TO INTERNATIONAL GUESTS
International guests had the opportunity to
explore Trebinje’s rich tourism offer through dedicated exhibition stands
organized by the Herzegovina House and the Trebinje Tourist Organization.
Visitors were introduced to the city’s cultural landmarks, natural beauty, wine
routes, gastronomy and authentic Herzegovinian lifestyle.
Special attention was drawn to valuable
exhibits from the Jovan Dučić Legacy, preserved at the Trebinje National
Library, including manuscripts, photographs and diplomatic decorations, as well
as historical artifacts from the Museum of Herzegovina.
AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES THAT INSPIRE FUTURE VISITS TO TREBINJE
Performances by cultural and artistic
societies GKUD “Alat” and ANI “Jovan Dučić”, along with the city choir
“Tribunija”, brought the spirit of Trebinje and Herzegovina closer to the
audience through traditional music and dance, leaving a strong emotional
impression on visitors.
The St. Sava Ball traditionally also has a
humanitarian character, further strengthening its reputation as an event that
unites culture, tradition and international cooperation.
With its successful presentation in Vienna,
Trebinje once again confirmed its position as a destination that offers
authentic experiences, rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality — inviting
international visitors to discover the southern gem of Herzegovina.
