Iako će ljetovanja ove godine biti skuplja nego prethodnih, interesovanje građana ne jenjava pa turističke agencije već imaju rane rezervacije.
SUMMER
2026 TRAVEL PACKAGE PRICES ALREADY ANNOUNCED
Although
summer holidays in 2026 will be more expensive than in previous years, public
interest shows no signs of slowing down, as travel agencies are already
recording early bookings. For a family to enjoy sun and sand, several thousand
convertible marks (KM) will be required, while consumer protection associations
warn that extra caution is essential when signing travel contracts.
Vedran
Jokić, director of the Banja Luka–based travel agency Kontiki, told Glas Srpske
that interest in summer vacations is already extremely high and that some
accommodation capacities are significantly booked.
“We
published offers for the new summer season back in November, which is why our
office has been busy every day. Travelers who booked by December 31 received
special benefits and a wider choice of accommodation,” Jokić said.
According
to him, package prices are five to 15 percent higher compared to previous
years, mainly due to overall inflation.
“Price
increases are present in all aspects of life, and this has inevitably affected
travel package prices as well,” Jokić emphasized.
He added that a seven- to ten-day vacation for a family of four costs between KM 4,000 and KM 6,000, depending on the destination, hotel category, and the age of children.
“The
minimum price per person in more affordable hotels ranges from around KM 1,000
to KM 1,300,” Jokić said, noting that Turkey and Greece remain among the most
popular destinations, partly due to direct flights from Banja Luka.
There
is also strong demand for summer holidays in Egypt, Tunisia, Spain, and Italy,
as well as travel packages to Jordan departing from Belgrade.
The
Prijedor-based travel agency Vuković stated that early bookings for summer
vacations have already begun, although stronger interest is expected after the
holidays.
“We
recently published part of our offers, while the rest will be available after
the holidays. At the moment, we offer packages for Spain, Greece, and Croatia,
and we have already recorded the first bookings, although travelers are still
primarily focused on New Year’s and International Women’s Day trips,” the
agency said.
They
added that the Makarska Riviera has been the most sought-after destination for
years, while a significant number of travelers also choose Turkey, Greece, and
Spain. Italy has also been added to this year’s offer.
Regarding
prices, they noted that packages are more expensive than in previous years, by
an average of around five percent.
“This
is a minimal increase, and we do not expect it to significantly affect
travelers’ interest,” the agency said, adding that bus transportation still
dominates, although interest in air travel packages is growing.
Residents
of Semberija have largely decided to spend the new summer season in Greece,
according to the agency Hepi Travel, which noted that many citizens took
advantage of New Year’s discounts.
Dragan
Jošić, a representative of the Banja Luka consumer association Reakcija,
pointed out that summer holidays are significantly cheaper if booked during the
winter, but warned that citizens must be extremely careful when signing travel
contracts.
“When
summer vacations are paid for in winter, prices are noticeably lower than
during the peak season, when capacities are already filled, allowing travelers
to make substantial savings,” Jošić said.
He stressed that it is crucial for all details of a travel arrangement to be clearly defined in the contract.
“Consumers
often focus only on the final price and overlook what is actually included in
the package. It is essential to carefully read the contract, including the
so-called ‘fine print,’ and clearly determine whether it includes full board,
half board, and which services are covered,” he emphasized.
Speaking
about value for money, Jošić believes that packages in Turkey and Greece often
offer more for the price paid than vacations in closer destinations.
“It
happens that for KM 4,000 to KM 5,000—the cost of a vacation for a family of
four—consumers receive a lower-category hotel that does not realistically
justify that price, especially in Croatia and Montenegro, where high demand and
the influx of foreign tourists further drive prices up,” Jošić said.
He
also warned that citizens are increasingly taking financial risks to afford a
summer vacation, which he says has become a matter of social status.
Marijana
T. from Banja Luka said she was shocked by the prices for the upcoming summer
season.
“My
husband and I planned to travel to Turkey or Greece with our two children.
However, when we found out that the price for a seven-night package is close to
KM 7,000, even with an early booking discount, we were left speechless,” she
said, adding that they are now reconsidering whether they will travel at all.
Jokić
also noted that travelers choosing Turkey almost exclusively opt for
“all-inclusive” or “ultra all-inclusive” packages, while half-board
arrangements are most common in Greece.
“We
also offer installment payments of up to 12 months, with repayment continuing
even after returning from the trip,” Jokić concluded.
