A NEW STEP FORWARD FOR JEZERO ON A JOURNEY OF 1,000 MILES

Embarking on a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. For the municipality of Jezero, the first step was the construction of the "Serbia" sports hall with the support of the Government of Serbia. The second step involved forming sections, clubs, and the Sports Association "Jezero," as stated by the Serbian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivan Todorov, during his visit to this municipality.

Todorov emphasized that the donation of sports equipment to the primary school in Jezero is just the beginning of a collaboration. In the future, coaches will be trained at seminars in Serbia to work with children, and cooperation will be established in all sports with sections in this municipality, including basketball, football, jiu-jitsu, and judo.

"I am particularly pleased that this hall will be used not only for physical education classes but also as a place for children to gather after school. I felt the need to support such a good initiative," Todorov said.

He congratulated the mayor of Jezero, Snežana Ružičić, for the achievements and the selfless energy she invests in the development of sports and other aspects of life in this municipality.

Judo champion Nemanja Majdov expressed his delight at the interest of many children in Jezero in sports activities, highlighting that most great champions come from small communities.

"I sincerely hope that among these children is a future champion. Our mission is to ensure that all children have adequate conditions to fulfill their dreams, achieve the best sports results, participate in the Olympic Games, and maybe even become world champions," Majdov stated.

He invited the children and their coaches to attend the "Majdov Academy," which will be held in August in East Sarajevo. Majdov explained that the project would bring together children from 25 countries, where Olympic champions will teach them judo skills.

"All children from Republika Srpska up to the age of 15 will have free participation, and the sponsor of the 'Majdov Academy' is the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik," Majdov added.

Ružičić emphasized the honor of hosting a champion like Nemanja Majdov and representatives from Serbia, who helped build the "Serbia" sports hall in this municipality.

"Today, I have learned a lot from these athletes, and I am glad to witness the first steps in creating future champions from this municipality through judo or other sports. Investing in sports, creating conditions and opportunities for children to participate in sports activities and be on the sports field is already a great success for all of us leading any projects in our communities," Ružičić stated.

Young girl Marina Nikolaš expressed that it was a great honor for her and other children in Jezero to meet athlete Nemanja Majdov today.

Ambassador Ivan Todorov, General Consul of Serbia in Banja Luka Miloš Vujić, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Serbia in Bosnia and Herzegovina Nataša Đorđević, and athlete Nemanja Majdov visited the "Vuk Karadžić" Primary School and handed over sports equipment as a donation to the school.
