The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of RS has announced the arrival of a new heatwave, with the hottest days expected at the beginning of next week.
Amateur meteorologist Ivan Ristić from Serbia provided a detailed forecast of the weather conditions we can expect in the coming period.
"We are currently under the influence of a high-pressure system over the Carpathians and the Black Sea, which will bring pleasant temperatures ranging from 28 to 32 degrees Celsius in the next two days. However, starting Wednesday, we can expect the strengthening of the African anticyclone, which will result in rising temperatures," Ristić told Kurir TV.
According to Ristić, the temperature increase will be gradual, with a rise of about two degrees each day.
"By Monday, temperatures are expected to reach between 36 and 40 degrees, and these conditions will persist for the following days," Ristić said, adding that the heat will be especially intense from August 12 to 14.
Speaking about the possible end of the heatwave, Ristić mentioned that there is currently no clear end in sight for these high temperatures.
"We do not see the arrival of a front from the west or northwest that would bring relief and rain. Perhaps by the end of August, around the 25th, we can expect a slight cooling and the possibility of precipitation," Ristić said, warning that temperatures will still remain high, with maximum values between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius.
Ristić urged citizens to follow advice on heat protection, especially during the hottest days.
"The smartest thing to do is to stay in the shade and drink plenty of water," Ristić concluded.
Temperature rises and tropical nights are expected next week in Srpska, starting from today, with maximum air temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 36 degrees. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be the hottest, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 40 degrees.
