The Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska announced that it will consider possibilities for improving the project and introducing new methods for distributing tourism vouchers.

As recalled by the Ministry, a total of 9,330 vouchers were issued in two phases last year for domestic tourists who chose to spend their holidays in Republika Srpska. The nominal value of each voucher was 100 KM, while payments to accommodation service providers have been carried out continuously and in line with available budget funds.

During the previous year, the project included 61 accommodation facilities and six travel agencies. As in earlier cycles, the majority of vouchers were used in spa and wellness centers across Republika Srpska, as well as in major tourist destinations such as Banja Luka, Trebinje, and Jahorina.

“When it comes to the number of overnight stays achieved, statistical indicators clearly show that this project significantly increased the number of overnight stays by domestic tourists,” the Ministry of Trade and Tourism stated.

In June 2025, a total of 47,546 overnight stays were recorded, representing an increase of 22.7 percent compared to the same month the previous year. In September, 39,926 overnight stays were recorded, marking a 14.7 percent increase compared to September 2024.

According to the Ministry, overnight stays also increased by 22.4 percent in October and by 23.3 percent in November.

“These figures confirm that the tourism voucher project has been successfully implemented. Through this initiative, we have increased the number of arrivals and overnight stays by domestic tourists, as well as domestic spending, which was the primary goal of the project,” the Ministry concluded.
