ARGENTINIAN EXPLAINS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A SERBIAN DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AND CELEBRATE SLAVA

Recording daily interesting content about life and customs in the Balkans, Argentine Denis, who married a Serbian man named Jovan a few years ago, shared but also "warned" other foreigners about what it's actually like to be married to a Serbian man and celebrate his slava.

Denis from Argentina and Jovan from Bosnia and Herzegovina met in Dubai while working as a flight attendant and steward, respectively, traveling the world for their jobs.

After falling in love with each other, they decided to continue their lives in Banja Luka, Jovan's hometown, where they started a family... And where there's a Serbian family, there's also a Serbian slava – which, in the case of this Argentine, looks like a "real emotional rollercoaster."

"Girls, if you're in a relationship with a Serbian man, then this video is for you. But first, let me put this sausage and dried meat in the fridge where there are already extra sausages and dried meat," Denis said while holding a large tea sausage and an even bigger piece of dried meat in her hands.

Then she began explaining what it's like to be the wife or girlfriend of a Serbian man.

"First of all, hats off to you, girl! But let me ask you something, how serious is your relationship? Where is it going? Do you know what slava is? If you know what slava is, did you ask him which slava he celebrates, when it is, how he celebrates it? How many days it lasts? Have you asked him these questions?

"Because, girl, let me tell you something, that will be your slava one day too, and it's an emotional rollercoaster," she said. "My feelings for two days of this event were up and down, and many times during those days I asked myself, 'How the hell did I end up here?'. These are the days when there's definitely no rest or sitting down... The good thing is that you have unlimited amounts of rakija, but be prepared to receive three kisses on the cheek from every guest. Also, make sure to learn a few words like 'Thank you,' 'Nice to meet you,' 'Welcome'... Oh yes, there's also a lot of coffee then! Learn all the procedures with holy things, because all eyes will be on you, girl. But most importantly – Enjoy and... Good luck!" she concluded.
