A recent analysis by the InfoBijeljina.com portal reveals that individual citizens are purchasing more new vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina than legal entities — but the gap is not very wide.
In July 2025, when looking at first-time vehicle registrations by ownership type, private individuals accounted for 56.9%, while legal entities made up 43.1%.
Petrol-powered vehicles were the most commonly registered new vehicles, making up 58.6% of all new registrations, followed by diesel vehicles at 25.7%.
When it comes to the types of newly registered motor vehicles, passenger cars were the most represented, accounting for 46.4% of first-time registrations.
According to data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a total of 12,618 motor vehicles (both new and used) were registered for the first time in July 2025.
"This represents an increase of 10.9% in the number of first-time registered motor vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina compared to the same month last year," the agency reported.
Of all the vehicles registered for the first time, passenger cars were by far the most common (74.3%), followed by motorcycles (6.1%), trucks (5.9%), and mopeds (3.4%). Buses made up the smallest share, with only 0.2% of total registrations.
