The exhibition features 16 portraits of Serbian women who have left a profound mark on history and the collective memory of the nation. From Queen Jelena and Princess Milica to Milunka Savić and Diana Budisavljević, the artist aims to emphasize the crucial role and significance of women and mothers in society.

"Zečević believes that this theme is highly complex, demanding, and intriguing, yet unfortunately insufficiently discussed," stated the exhibition's announcement.

As central figures in both family and society, mothers have played a key role in preserving and transmitting fundamental values and cultural heritage.

Zečević selected the portrayed figures based on intuition, wishing to honor mothers who symbolized the preservation of family even in the most challenging periods of history when the very survival of the people was at stake.

The Museum of the Republic of Srpska highlights that this exhibition offers valuable lessons, as the destinies of these women are deeply woven into the history of the Serbian people.

"Renowned Serbian Mothers" will be on display at the Museum of the Republic of Srpska until February 25.
