dramatic expressions – from drama and opera to contemporary stage forums.
“RAILS”
– SEASON OPENER
The
season will open with Rails, a play by Milena Marković directed by Milan
Nešković.
“I’m
excited to work on this piece with young actors who were born after the time
period the play explores,” said Nešković. “Special thanks to the National
Theatre for embracing the concept where the set becomes part of the auditorium
– a first for NPRS.”

OLGA” – DIRECTED BY JUG ĐORĐEVIĆ
Renowned
Serbian director Jug Đorđević will bring Milutin Bojić’s text to life in Mrs.
Olga.

that Banja Luka offers – it’s something I truly appreciate,” Đorđević
commented.
YOUNG
FEMALE DIRECTORS BRING NEW ENERGY
Two
young directors will introduce new and bold productions this season. Dajana
Josipović returns to NPRS with her work-in-progress titled Good Luck to You,
Adi, while Anđela Krunić stages Seven Days in Zagreb by acclaimed Croatian
playwright Tena Štivičić.
“It’s
a great honor to be back home. I feel more creative and stronger here, and my
passion for theatre comes from the people I belong to,” said Josipović.
Krunić
added, “I’m pleased to work on a play by a writer who tackles important women’s
issues. Tena is one of the most prominent playwrights of our time.”
“THE
BADGER BEFORE THE COURT” – A NATIONAL OPERA PREMIERE
The
repertoire also includes the premiere of a national opera The Badger Before the
Court, directed by Milan Bogdanović, with a libretto by Ranko Risojević and
music by Vlado S. Milošević.
“This
is a timeless story of the little man fighting against the machinery of power.
With a brilliant team, I hope we’ve created an opera that will have a long life
on stage,” said Bogdanović.
“MARTIN’S
SHARE” – FINAL PREMIERE OF THE SEASON
The
season concludes with Martin’s Share, based on the novel by Sanja Savić
Milosavljević and directed by Nikola Bundalo
“This
is a story about the people I grew up with. It’s a great honor to have Sanja
actively involved in the process. The subject matter is complex and emotional,”
Bundalo noted.
SUPPORT
FOR YOUNG ARTISTS
Dijana
Grbić, Director of the National Theatre of RS, emphasized the importance of
supporting young directors and writers.
“It’s
crucial to give young artists the opportunity to create in their own country
and bring fresh quality to the domestic scene,” Grbić told Glas Srpske.
Artistic
Director Ljubiša Savanović added that the season’s repertoire will feature
contemporary and socially engaged stories, with a strong focus on domestic
dramatic works.
The
National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska continues to cultivate the national
dramatic voice, open its doors to emerging talents, and offer audiences
relevant and dynamic stage productions.
