BANJA LUKA – The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska officially opened the exhibition "FURY OF PAINTING" on June 26, showcasing the works of one of the region’s most prominent artists, Cile Marinković.
This exhibition marks a significant cultural event, encapsulating the artistic journey of a painter whose work transcends geographic, genre, and cultural boundaries. Marinković's art retains its authenticity while radiating emotional depth and powerful visual expression.
According to the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a curated selection of works from the past two decades—an era defined by mature creativity, continuity, and artistic transformation.
“Fury of Painting” offers an exceptional encounter with Marinković’s unique artistic language, shaped by his Balkan roots and French artistic sensibility. The paintings reflect a layered, expressive style, marked by emotion and intense use of color. Driven by an inner force, Marinković’s dynamic compositions come alive with faces, gestures, and figures, turning everyday life into a theater of personal and existential drama.
Having lived and worked in Paris for over thirty years, Marinković cultivates a distinct voice—an interplay of the real and the imaginary.
His paintings are infused with the essence of both his homeland and his adopted environment. A special focus on the human figure, facial expression, and psychological depth makes his work simultaneously universal and deeply personal.
Rather than a retrospective, “Fury of Painting” is a carefully constructed narrative exploring artistic longevity, identity, and constant evolution. It invites the viewer to slow down, to engage in personal reflection, and to enter an emotional dialogue with each piece.
The exhibition will remain open until September 26, curated by Christian Noorbergen, a French art historian and critic, and Lana Pavlović, senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska.
