BANJA LUKA – Everything is set for another edition of the TrotoArt Street Performers Festival, one of the most recognizable cultural events in the Republic of Srpska.
From June 15 to 21, the city on the Vrbas River will transform into a vibrant open-air stage, welcoming more than 500 local and international artists in what organizers describe as the festival’s most ambitious program yet.
According
to Banja Luka Project Manager Milada Šukalo, TrotoArt has quickly become a
highly respected and distinctive event, attracting an increasing number of
visitors every year thanks to its originality and unique atmosphere.
“This
year’s festival will last an entire week, with performances and activities
taking place at more than eight locations across the city. The official opening
is scheduled for June 15 at 6 p.m. in front of the Milanović House,” Šukalo
said.
The
opening ceremony will feature a spectacular concert, followed by a colorful
parade visiting all festival venues throughout the city. The evening will
conclude with a special artistic installation and animation program at Krajina
Square before moving to Petar Kočić Park, where visitors will enjoy a
performance by a renowned band arriving directly from the United Kingdom.
As in
previous years, concerts, workshops and creative activities for children will
be organized throughout the city during the morning and late afternoon hours.
The growing popularity of TrotoArt is reflected in this year’s participation figures, with around 500 performers expected to take part in the festival.
“I invite citizens and tourists not to attend only the opening or closing ceremonies, but to visit our streets and sidewalks every day throughout the festival. We have prepared entertainment and performances unlike anything regularly seen in Banja Luka,” Šukalo said.
This year’s edition will also feature artists from Switzerland as well as the Brazilian-Spanish contemporary circus troupe Familia Montes Morales.
One of the highlights will be “Signora Gomez,” a breathtaking tightrope performance by Swiss artist Eva Čermak. Through precise movements and extraordinary balancing skills, the visually striking act explores the boundaries of movement, balance and space, offering audiences a unique artistic experience.
The
performance will be staged in Parkić on June 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:00
p.m.
Festival
visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy “Circus Dreams,” a
contemporary circus production by Familia Montes Morales. Combining acrobatics,
movement and theatrical storytelling, the performance takes audiences into a
world of imagination and dreams, delivering a dynamic and emotional experience
for spectators of all ages.
“Circus
Dreams” will be performed in Parkić on June 20 at 8:00 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., and
on June 21 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
With
an impressive lineup of international artists, live music, creative workshops
and innovative street performances, TrotoArt is once again set to turn Banja
Luka into one of the region’s most exciting centers of street art and
entertainment.
