In the spirit of preserving local heritage, competitors tested their skills in traditional scythe mowing and chivalric games, keeping alive customs that have been passed down through generations.

This year's winner of the scythe mowing competition was Nebojša Dupljanin from Han Pijesak, who impressed both judges and spectators with his outstanding technique and craftsmanship.

Tribute to Fallen Soldiers

Before the competition began, a memorial service was held for the fallen soldiers at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Kalinovik. Afterwards, flowers were laid at the Central Memorial in honour of those who gave their lives for Republika Srpska.

Preserving Tradition and Cultural Heritage

The Kalinovik Olympics "Gvozno–Moba–Ozon" is much more than a sporting event. It celebrates the traditional art of scythe mowing, the spirit of community work ("moba"), and chivalric games, bringing together participants from across Republika Srpska and Serbia.

At the same time, the event showcases the natural beauty of Kalinovik and its tourism potential, highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage and promoting rural tourism as key elements of the region's identity.
