Organized by the Serbian Cultural Society "Prosvjeta" and the Council of the Serbian National Minority, a folklore evening was held in Split. This event was part of the Days of Serbian Culture in Split.
Zoran Nenadić, the Secretary of SKD "Prosvjeta,"
told Srna that members of the Women's Singing Choir "Prosvjeta" from
Split and guests from Kragujevac performed for the audience through song and
dance.
The event featured a women's singing group from the
Association of Serbs from Croatia "Nikola Tesla" in Kragujevac, the
women's and men's singing groups "Studenac," the Academic Folklore
Ensemble "Svetozar Marković," and actors Saša Pilipović and his brother
Slobodan from the Knjaževac-Serbian Theater in Kragujevac, Nenadić stated.
At the beginning of the concert at the City Youth Theater in Split, Marko Veselinović, president of the Split branch of the Serbian Cultural Society "Prosvjeta," addressed the audience with welcoming remarks.
In addition to the numerous attendees, the cultural event
was graced by the presence of Father Mladen Skopljak, a priest of the Serbian
Orthodox Church, and representatives of other national minorities active in
Split.
This event was financed by the Council for National
Minorities of the Government of Croatia. SKD "Prosvjeta" in Split has
over 100 members, and what sets it apart is that its members include not only
Serbs but also people from other nationalities.
