Preparations for the fifth Energy Summit, scheduled to be held in Trebinje from March 20th to 22nd, have entered the final phase. Over the course of three days, SET plans to host seven panel discussions, bringing energy experts from across the region to the southern part of Republika Srpska.
"We're expecting experts from across the region, from
all over the former Yugoslavia, including Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, and
Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives from Hungary and Slovenia.
It will be a true scientific and business gathering," says SET Director
Aleksandar Branković.
Year after year, the Energy Summit in Trebinje breaks
attendance records. Consequently, the Trebinje Cultural Center has become too
small for all those who wish to hear the latest topics in the field of energy.
"This year, based on registrations, we'll certainly
surpass last year's number of 902 participants. The limited capacity of the
hall poses a bit of a challenge, but considering this is a business conference
where people come not only for panel discussions and conversations but also for
networking, essentially, the entire complex of the Cultural Center will be
occupied. Everyone finds satisfaction and what they came to Trebinje for,"
says Branković.
The importance of SET has also been recognized by the Trebinje Tourist Organization. They welcome all energy enthusiasts, as these guests generate significant tourist traffic.
"SET is extremely important to us because it brings
800-900 participants. They're all guests of our city, with higher purchasing
power, leaving money in the city and generating significant tourist traffic for
all hospitality businesses. They're generally good consumers of the tourism
industry. As the Tourist Organization, we're always open to cooperation and
assistance of all kinds. SET marks an informal start to the season. When you
see the number of people in the city from all over, it's quite
impressive," says Nikola Kokić from the Trebinje Tourist Organization.
"We may still not fully grasp the magnitude of this
event, the regional scale it reaches, but when we see the number of
participants, how many people return to Trebinje, the number of overnight
stays, and the volume of turnover in hospitality establishments, we see that it
truly helps tourism and that the city is moving towards becoming a congress
destination," says SET Director Aleksandar Branković.
Great expectations are also held by the leadership of the
Republika Srpska Electric Power Industry (ERS). They say that this is an
opportunity to establish new business relationships and partnerships.
"This is a highly significant event for the city of
Trebinje, for our region, and then for the entire system of the Republika
Srpska Electric Power Industry. It's an international event, bringing together
partners from across the region and Europe. We even had some visitors from
other continents. It's certainly an opportunity to establish new acquaintances,
improve business relationships, and maximize benefits for Republika Srpska and
the Electric Power Industry," says ERS Executive Director for Technical
Affairs Ivan Koprivica.
Due to the high attendance of the Energy Summit, the
construction of a congress center in Trebinje is eagerly awaited, which will be
a gathering place for business conferences.
