The company Golden Eagle Luxury Trains (GELT), known for organizing high-end rail journeys across Europe and Asia, has included Bosnia and Herzegovina in its prestigious itinerary, with stops at two locations in the country.

The Balkan Explorer route operates on a 12-day journey from Venice to Istanbul, with additional passenger stops in Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Mostar, and Belgrade. This summer, the train will also pass through Banjaluka, though it will make official stops only in Sarajevo and Mostar on August 31.

The first journey of the season is scheduled from August 27 to September 7, and four more trips are already planned through October 2026.

Traveling in Deluxe Class for two people costs €17,595, while single travelers pay €26,195, with a required deposit of €1,750. The Superior Deluxe Class comes with an even steeper price tag — €22,595 for couples and €37,795 for solo travelers, requiring a €2,000 deposit. Tickets for 2026 are already available for reservation — at even higher rates.

GELT promotes its services as fully organized private railway tours, catering to adventurous travelers drawn to the excitement of discovering remote and stunning destinations — without sacrificing style, comfort, or safety.

The company guarantees five-star service before, during, and after the journey. Cabins are designed like hotel suites, featuring private bathrooms with showers and toilets, wardrobes, double or twin beds, Wi-Fi, USB ports, desks, chairs, mirrors, and panoramic windows — ideal for capturing breathtaking views and landmarks.

Onboard dining is another highlight, where top chefs prepare and professional staff serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an elegant restaurant setting, reports Menager.

As luxury rail travel experiences a renaissance across Europe, this moving palace on tracks offers travelers the rare chance to see the Balkans in unparalleled elegance — and this year, Banjaluka will be part of that journey.
