The company Lidl plans to open a shopping center in Laktaši, with the facility of this well-known German retail chain set to be built at the entrance to the city, near the Nestro Petrol gas station, CAPITAL has confirmed.
The mayor of Laktaši, Miroslav Bojić, specified for CAPITAL that the Lidl store is planned to be located about 100 meters before the Nestro Petrol station, coming from the direction of Gradiška.
“The land is accessed via Mire Cikote Street, and the entire parcel is privately owned by several different individuals. They have signed preliminary agreements stating that they will transfer the land to Lidl only after they receive payment, which will happen once Lidl obtains a construction permit for the site,” Bojić explained.
He added that amendments to the Regulatory Plan, which would allow the construction of the shopping center, are expected to be adopted by the end of May.
“If the City Assembly adopts the amendments within the set timeframe, the city administration could issue a construction permit to Lidl by the end of June or early July. From that point, they can start construction or begin selecting a contractor,” Bojić stated.
According to him, the current Regulatory Plan, adopted more than three decades ago, originally designated that location for a bus station.
“We will build a new bus station that will fully meet the needs of our city near the high school center,” he added.
According to CAPITAL's sources, Lidl plans to launch its chain of retail centers across Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of 2026.
Previous announcements indicate that the company also plans to build stores in Bijeljina, Zvornik, Gradiška, and Modriča.
