Renowned Bosnian meteorologist Nedim Sladić has announced the arrival of spring, but with a warning that the unpredictable March weather may bring surprises.
According to him, winter will be swept away across much of Europe next week, and nature will begin to awaken. An abundance of sunny days is expected, with air temperatures reaching, and in some areas exceeding, 20°C by Friday. However, Sladić cautions that there are still many meteorological developments unfolding in the background.
"Historical climatological data teach us that we can never fully trust the March sun. Although the weather will feel springlike, keep your warm clothes in the wardrobe because we cannot completely rule out a late winter bite in April," Sladić stated.
He explained that mid-March will bring the final warming of the stratosphere and its splitting into two parts, which could have a delayed effect on weather conditions approximately three weeks later.
The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute forecasts light rain or sleet in the lowlands of central, eastern, and western Bosnia in the coming days, while snowfall is expected in higher areas. Light precipitation is also possible in the southern and eastern parts of Herzegovina, accompanied by moderate bora winds in the south and southwest of the country. Morning temperatures will range from -1 to 4°C, up to 10°C in the south, while daytime temperatures will be between 4 and 10°C, reaching up to 14°C in the south.
Although true spring weather awaits us in the coming days, Sladić advises caution, as spring often brings unpredictable weather fluctuations.
