The decision follows the initiative of the Municipality of Srebrenica, which submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Civil Engineering, and Ecology for the protection of the area known as „Banja Guber and surroundings“.

The park covers an area of 571.78 hectares, with protection regimes of levels II and III. Most of the park consists of natural forests of beech and hornbeam, while a smaller part is artificially planted with black and white pine. The area is rich in geodiversity and over 40 mineral water springs, including Crni Guber, Mali Guber, Velika Kiselica, and Očna Voda. The highest peak, Kvarac, reaches 1,013 meters above sea level.

The protected area supports recreation, relaxation, health tourism, educational and scientific activities, while preserving its natural values. The park is managed by the Public Enterprise „Šume Republike Srpske“, Drina Forestry Unit in Srebrenica.

With the declaration of the „Guber“ Nature Park, the total protected area in Republika Srpska has increased to 73,596.26 hectares, representing 2.98% of the territory. This decision marks an important step in preserving natural and cultural heritage and improving environmental quality.
