The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia forecasts predominantly sunny and warm weather for our region throughout the second half of June.
Starting from June 17, localized cloud development may bring brief showers in some areas.
"During the upcoming week, the weather will remain mostly sunny and warm, with maximum daily temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius. Only on Tuesday will slightly cooler weather prevail due to variable cloudiness, which may trigger isolated short-term showers and thunderstorms, bringing temperatures down to between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius," the RHMZ of Serbia announced.
In the second half of next week, occasional afternoon showers with thunder are expected, particularly in the hilly and mountainous regions of southwestern, southern, and southeastern Serbia.
Amateur meteorologist Marko Čubrilo also predicts moderately warm and mostly dry conditions in the coming days. "Only on Monday afternoon and Tuesday will there be a slight chance of scattered showers. After that, it will return to being moderately warm. A potential change in weather patterns is possible around June 23," he said.
According to Čubrilo, there is currently no clear indication of significant weather deterioration or heavy rainfall through the end of the month. “June continues to be extremely dry. Although the temperatures are not excessively high, which helps ease the impact, soil moisture is already in decline. For the next two weeks, no significant rainfall is expected, and long-term forecasts point toward a dry remainder of the summer,” Čubrilo emphasized.
He added that the isolated, localized showers expected from Monday evening to Tuesday evening will not significantly impact the overall moisture deficit in the soil. “Some areas in the west might receive a bit more rain due to stronger showers, but these locations will be rare. In the east, rainfall will be minimal,” he said.
"A few local showers are possible again on Friday, mostly in the mountainous southern areas, while generally dry and moderately warm conditions with highs between +27 and +32 degrees Celsius will prevail until around June 24. Along the Adriatic coast, temperatures could reach up to +36 degrees. Only on Monday in the west and Tuesday across the rest of the region will there be a temporary cooling, with highs between +21 and +29 degrees Celsius," concluded Čubrilo.
Around June 23, a more noticeable—though likely brief—weather change could occur, but even that is not expected to bring any substantial rainfall to our region.
