During the Easter fasting season, we bring you a fantastic recipe for vegan pancakes made with water—so delicious that few will be able to resist!
These pancakes can be filled with jam, fruit, or a vegan chocolate spread, depending on your preference.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour (wheat, spelt, or buckwheat)
1 cup carbonated water
A pinch of salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation:
Pancakes are one of the most beloved desserts worldwide, and the great news is that you can enjoy them even during fasting periods—without milk or eggs! These water-based vegan pancakes are light, soft, and perfect for breakfast, a snack, or a sweet treat with your afternoon coffee.
Although they require just a few simple ingredients, the secret to their perfect texture lies in the use of carbonated water, which makes them airy and fluffy. You can pair them with various vegan fillings such as jam, fruit, or nuts.
In a deep bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Gradually add the carbonated water while stirring constantly until you get a smooth, lump-free batter.
Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes. Heat a pan, pour a ladle of batter, and spread it evenly.
Cook the pancakes over medium heat until golden brown on one side, then carefully flip and cook for another minute or two.
Fill them with your favorite ingredients and serve while still warm.
