If you’re looking for a quick and delicious vegan dish, these rolls are a perfect choice. Not only are they easy to make, but they can also be served cold, staying soft and tasty from breakfast to dinner.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 packet fresh yeast
350 ml warm water
1 tsp sugar
5 tbsp oil
Approximately 550 g flour
1 tsp salt
TOPPING:
1 tbsp flour
4 tbsp water
A pinch of salt
Sesame seeds (optional)
A little oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 180°C (356°F).
Activate the yeast: Dissolve the crumbled yeast and sugar in warm water, stir, and let it activate.
Prepare the dough: Add the oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture and knead into a smooth dough. Lightly oil the dough, cover it, and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
Shape the rolls: Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead briefly, and divide it into 10-12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, then flatten with your fingers and roll out with a rolling pin before rolling them up into a crescent shape.
Arrange the rolls: Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Mix the flour, water, and salt for the topping, and brush this mixture over the rolls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired, cover, and let them rest for another 15 minutes.
Bake: Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven until golden brown.
Finish with oil: Once baked, brush the hot rolls with a little oil for extra softness.
These rolls are a versatile addition to any meal, perfect on their own or paired with your favorite spreads and toppings.
