Cranberries, small yet powerful fruits, are increasingly becoming the focus of research due to their significant health benefits.
A recent study from the University of East Anglia reveals that daily consumption of cranberries can offer substantial advantages for memory and cognitive health.
The findings suggest that cranberries may play a crucial role in preventing dementia and lowering levels of "bad" cholesterol.
During the study, scientists monitored a group of 60 healthy participants over a period of 12 weeks.
Half of the participants consumed cranberry powder, while the other half received a placebo.
By the end of the study, those who consumed cranberries daily showed significant improvements in memory for everyday events, better brain circulation, and lower levels of LDL cholesterol – commonly known as "bad" cholesterol.
Dr. David Vauzour, the lead researcher on the project, emphasized that the results are very promising and pave the way for further research on how cranberries and other berries can help preserve cognitive functions, according to Najžena.alo.
