After you've enjoyed your Easter eggs, you don't have to toss away the shells. There's a way you can put them to good use, especially if your home, terrace, or garden is adorned with flowers and plants.
Eggshells are a treasure trove of nutrients, especially
calcium, making them excellent natural fertilizer.
If you have a garden, your tomatoes and peppers will particularly benefit from the calcium in eggshells, but other plants and flowers will also reap the benefits of this addition.
All you need to do is crush the shells and sprinkle two to three tablespoons into the pot, or into the soil around the plant if you've planted it outdoors.
You can also put them in water. Let them sit, then use that water to water your plants. For example, for 12 to 18 eggs, you'll need around 18 liters of water, or one shell per liter of water.
Leave the shells in the
water for about a week before watering your plants, allowing them to release
nutrients into the water.
