Last night, Banja Luka experienced a celebration of excellence in wine with the screening of the documentary "Terra Magica," hosted by the Embassy of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Directed by Slovenian filmmaker Jure Breceljnik, the film unfolds in the picturesque Goriška Brda, Slovenia's renowned wine region.
"Terra Magica" intricately weaves together the art of winemaking with themes of devotion to the land, sun, and community. It features captivating narratives from leading winemakers such as Aleš Kristančič of Movia, Marjan Simčič, Aleks Simčič of Edi Simčič, Stojan Ščurek, and Marko Skočaj of Dolfo Winery. These individuals have not only elevated their wineries but also placed their entire region on the global map of wine aficionados through their dedication and passion.
A poignant quote from the film's promotional material encapsulates its essence: "One region divided between two countries sets the stage for a story of incredible people and their love for the sun and soil that birth wine." This sentiment invites wine enthusiasts and lovers of human stories alike to delve into the enchantment of "Terra Magica."
The event continued with a tasting session featuring a selection of reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines from Goriška Brda, including offerings from Patrick Simančić Wines, Kristalvin, and Klet Brada. Attendees were delighted by the diversity and quality of the wines presented.
His Excellency Damijan Sedar, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Miha Vilar, Head of the Consular Office in Banja Luka, presided over the evening, promising more cultural exchanges and events to further acquaint Banja Luka residents with Slovenian culture and its exceptional products.
