RECORD-BREAKING YEAR FOR ETHNO-TOURISM IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

Last year saw an unprecedented influx of visitors to ethno-villages, signaling a robust return to the tourism scene following the pandemic-induced hiatus.

Milena Stanišić, the marketing manager of Stanišići Ethno Village, expressed utmost satisfaction with the performance in 2023, especially compared to the lingering effects of the pandemic in 2022. She highlighted that the past year saw over 1,000 guests visiting the village every weekend.

"We are witnessing an increasing number of foreign tourists from Russia, Western Europe, and, depending on events, visits from the United States and Asia," Stanišić remarked, noting visits even from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The sentiment of a record-breaking year was echoed by Miodrag Bosić, the proprietor of Kotromanić Ethno Village near Doboj. Bosić affirmed that the pandemic had brought tourism to the brink of collapse but noted a remarkable recovery in 2023, with over 3,000 tourists from the United States.

Pero Miljević, owner of Miljevići Ethno House in Šipovo, emphasized the continual development of ethno-tourism, with Šipovo emerging as a distinguished destination for ethno and eco-tourism.

As ethno-tourism flourishes year by year, these developments underscore the growing appeal and recognition of Republika Srpska as a premier destination for travelers seeking authentic cultural experiences.
