The fair was opened by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who emphasized that this event has already reached the fourth spot among the most significant wine fairs in Europe. Vučić expressed pride in Serbia and the Open Balkan initiative.

"Wine has always been a symbol of the progress of a society and a country," Vučić said in his opening address, attended by members of the governments of Serbia, Albania, and North Macedonia.

He noted that Serbia today has 18,200 hectares of vineyards, 77 wine-growing regions, over 500 wineries, and 215 grape varieties.

Vučić highlighted the importance of cooperation among Serbia, North Macedonia, and Albania, adding that the countries are united under the same vision of development and mutual progress.

"Here today are nearly all the leading winemakers from Serbia and North Macedonia, the best winemakers from Albania, along with 63 producers from Italy, as well as exhibitors from France, Portugal, and Spain — a major success for Wine Vision," Vučić stated. He also thanked the numerous guests and partners from China for their strong presence.

Stevan Rajta, President of the Serbian Winemakers Association, declared Belgrade the “true wine capital today,” adding that the fair has quickly become an essential platform for wine producers and one of the most reputable wine fairs worldwide.

Wineries and distilleries from Republika Srpska are exhibiting in Hall 3, where the Republika Srpska booth is located, as well as in Halls 1 and 4.

This year’s selection of exhibitors is stronger than ever, featuring expanded tasting zones, premium brandy sections, masterclasses, top-level workshops, gastronomic presentations, and a special Italian sector showcasing the finest Italian wine and culinary traditions.

The program includes more than 30 workshops and masterclasses, numerous educational sessions and panels, and over 1,500 business meetings. In addition to exhibitors, several hundred wine traders, importers, and distributors from around the world will participate.

At the end of the event, wines from Serbia, North Macedonia, and Albania will compete for the title of best in the region, judged by international experts — including five holders of the prestigious Master of Wine title.

Alongside wine, the results of the "Brandy Trophy" competition will also be presented, reports SRNA.
