The “Winter in Pale” festival, which includes various events organized by different organizations and associations, kicks off with the first days of winter on December 20th.
Igor Ikonić, Director of the Tourist Organization of the City of East Sarajevo, stated that this is the second time the festival is being realized, featuring a unique event calendar.
“The central event is certainly the organized celebration of the Orthodox New Year at Pale’s promenade, where we expect a great performance by Branka Zečević and our local music ensemble, Istureno odjeljenje,” said Ikonić.
He emphasized that both residents and tourists will be welcomed with a rich variety of activities, including the annual concert of KUD “Mladost,” Bogojavljanje swimming for the cross, events for the youngest, and activities related to tradition and cultural remembrance.
Ikonić also highlighted that the “Winter in Pale” program will likely be further enriched with different activities.
“Winter in Pale” returns this December, featuring a variety of events organized by local organizations.
Highlights include the swimming for the Cross in the river Prača in Nikolići, set to take place again this year after a successful turnout last year. In early February, an ice skating rink with real ice will be set up in the Olympic Park or nearby, complementing the other activities.
The festival’s program includes activities such as motomrezve, gift-giving, a race of Santa Clauses, a charity bazaar, a concert by KUD ‘Mladost,’ Children’s New Year celebration, Flying Guitars Adventures, and performances related to Christmas Eve, Republic Day of Srpska, and Orthodox New Year.
Other highlights include an ice skating rink, swimming for the Cross, a large children’s party, and a winter beer festival. The ‘Winter in Pale’ festival will begin on December 20, 2024, and run until the end of February 2025.
The event is organized by the Tourist Organization of the City of East Sarajevo, Pale Municipality, KSC ‘Pale,’ JU DC ‘Buba Mara,’ EC ‘Big Ben,’ KUD ‘Mladost,’ Moto Club ‘Pale,’ Music Ensemble ‘Pale,’ and the Pale Parish of the Serbian Orthodox Church.”
