FIRST SERBIAN VIDEO GAME LAUNCHED ON THE FORTNITE PLATFORM

Zlatibor's Gold Gondola has become the first company in Serbia to release its own video game on a global platform. The game, Gold Gondola Adventure, was launched on Fortnite, a platform with more than 650 million users.

The game brings Zlatibor's cable car into the virtual world, following its real route from the starting station to the Tornik ski center, integrating all the gondola’s additional activities as mini-games.

Players from around the world can enjoy a gondola ride, boating, tubing, archery, fishing, and can even run along the cable or jump from the cabin into the lake.

Points, or Golden Koins, collected in the game are valid as currency—a special in-game currency that players can use to purchase unique souvenirs in the souvenir shop. The game is free to download and play and will feature seasonal updates depending on the time of year and new developments introduced by Gold Gondola.

“Gold Gondola is already known as a place for new experiences, and now it will become a destination in the digital world as well—an important step forward in tourism. Our visitors are used to fun content along the gondola route, and this time it’s a video game that brings a whole new way to experience Zlatibor and the Gold Gondola,” said Bojana Božanić, director of the public company “Gold Gondola Zlatibor.”

In Gold Gondola Adventure, players can participate in a variety of entertaining activities: fishing, gondola rides, archery, boating, tubing, parties at Tornik, open-air cinema, tightrope running, jumping from the cabin into the lake, collecting Golden Koins, and many other adventures designed for exploration and fun.

The digital world has enormous potential to reach a wide audience, especially younger players. With this move, Gold Gondola aims to showcase the beauty of Zlatibor to the entire world, while also increasing brand recognition and sparking curiosity among players to explore the real-life locations and activities that captivated them in the virtual setting.

“The game was developed by our small but dedicated gaming team from Glitch Studios, part of the Radionica Krug company, with support from a creative advisory team who tested the game and provided feedback during development,” added game developer Lena Glišović.

The project took about three months to complete. The biggest challenge was how to faithfully capture the ambiance and spirit of Zlatibor and the gondola in a virtual world while keeping the gameplay engaging and fun.
