The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has announced the 75 finalist photographs competing for a place in the official 2026 calendar — and among them is a stunning image by Bosnian photographer Vladimir Tadić, featuring the breathtaking Ilomska River waterfall.
The Hydrometeorological Institute of Republika Srpska confirmed the news, stating: “Once again this year, a photograph from Bosnia and Herzegovina has made it into the final selection. Photographer Vladimir Tadić captured a stunning view of the waterfall on the Ilomska River.”
This year’s calendar theme highlights the impact — both positive and negative — of meteorological and hydrological phenomena on people and society as a whole. Contestants are showcasing the power of nature and emphasizing the urgent need to protect our planet from harmful human influence.
Voting for the 13 winning photographs is open until September 8 and can be done through the WMO’s official accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr.
Vladimir Tadić, an award-winning photographer from Čelinac, is known for promoting the natural beauty of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina through his work. His photographs have previously been featured in the WMO calendar.
