The Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, expressed his gratitude to all the local families who warmly welcome the children each year and take part in this heartfelt initiative.

"The children have come from two villages near Priština, areas that are particularly vulnerable. They will have the opportunity to visit the seaside, swimming pools, monasteries, and museums. Our goal is to make this visit a lasting and beautiful memory for them. This is an emotional and noble act—tears are often present both when the children arrive and when they leave. Trebinje has been part of this project for many years, and while we help cover some of the costs, those expenses are insignificant compared to the good we are doing," said Ćurić.

He also emphasized the difficult circumstances in some enclaves of Kosovo.

"Anyone who hasn't visited Kosovo and Metohija cannot truly understand what is happening there. We will always stand by our people and support this and similar projects. Once again, I thank all the parents, school principals, and teachers who contribute to this effort," he added.

The visit is part of a long-standing project organized by the Committee for Assistance to Kosovo and Metohija, with the support of the governments and institutions of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, as well as numerous local communities.

Since the project began in 2012, more than 45 local governments from the Republic of Srpska have taken part, hosting over 8,000 children and 750 educators from Kosovo and Metohija.
