Global innovation with local roots — that’s the best way to describe the groundbreaking application developed by young inventor Milan Aleksić from Teslić, Bosnia and Herzegovina. What started as a high school project has now transformed into a cutting-edge software-hardware system that's changing how sports results are recorded, tracked, and displayed across the region — and soon, the world.
Aleksić
has fully digitalized the process of managing and following sports matches,
eliminating the inconsistencies of the past.
“Before,
there were three separate clocks during matches. The scorer had one, the
referee had another, and the scoreboard had its own. Now, we’ve built a central
application that synchronizes everything. TV broadcasters can pull real-time
data from our system, the scoreboard updates instantly, and score sheets are
filled in automatically. Previously, all of this was done manually,” Milan
explained in an interview with ATV.
He first
came up with the idea four years ago, while still in secondary school. Since
then, Milan has worked tirelessly with his brother, Mile, developing the system
in their family-run company. Today, the Aleksić family stands proud — and for
good reason.
Their software is already in use at 22 stadiums and 15 sports halls across four countries in the region. And this, they say, is only the beginning.
“We’re
aiming for the global market,” says Mile Aleksić. “We receive daily inquiries
from across Europe — people are recognizing the power of our software because
of its advanced features and full digital integration.”
The
application has already made it to the final round of an international
innovation competition in Canada, and the Aleksić brothers are now preparing
applications for contests in Russia, China, and the United Arab Emirates.
In the
meantime, they continue to enhance the system — their next goal: to program the
app to recognize even the sound of a referee’s whistle.
From
Teslić to the world, the Aleksićs are proving that true innovation knows no
boundaries — and sometimes, world-changing ideas are born in the most
unexpected places.
