The company m:tel has donated 20,000 KM to the Down Syndrome Center Banja Luka for the purchase of an electroencephalographic therapeutic device, directly supporting the work of the newly opened International Institute for Down Syndrome "Lazaro" on Jahorina, the first of its kind in Europe.
The institute was officially inaugurated by Tamara Vučić, the First Lady of Serbia, who also became the international ambassador of this institution.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jelena Trivan, General Director of m:tel and ambassador of the center for Serbia, Kosovo, and Metohija. On this occasion, user Ivana Popović presented her with a symbolic gift.
Ivana will soon become part of the m:tel team, further reinforcing the company's commitment to inclusion and creating opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome.
"m:tel has supported the Down Syndrome Center Banja Luka from the very beginning, and our doors have always been open to them. Our support has been continuous, a result of the joint efforts of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, through which the center previously received a much-needed passenger van, and now a rehabilitation center that will significantly improve the quality of life for its users. I invite all socially responsible companies to join this 'fight'; their goals are ambitious, and they need much more to become self-sustaining and secure their future," Trivan stated at the opening of the Institute.
She added that m:tel remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that contribute to inclusion and improving the quality of life for people with developmental difficulties, providing not only support but also concrete opportunities for professional and personal development.
