Students of the Gymnasium “Jovan Dučić” in Doboj have developed an innovative application for monitoring air temperature and humidity, which has already been installed at the Doboj Health Center to support supervision of the cold chain and proper vaccine storage.
The
application enables continuous monitoring of environmental conditions and
provides automatic alerts in case of temperature fluctuations. This allows
medical staff to react promptly and helps prevent potential damage to vaccines,
the Doboj Health Center announced.
The application, named “Ersen” (Airsen), was created by first-year students of the computer science and information technology program, Miloš Miljanović and Dušan Cocić, under the mentorship of teacher Mladen Stevanović.
According
to the announcement, the application will be further upgraded to include
automatic email notifications if parameters move outside the permitted range,
as well as the ability to generate detailed reports.
Continuous
temperature monitoring is essential for maintaining the vaccine cold chain,
ensuring the effectiveness and safety of vaccines during storage.
